This wedding was a long time coming. I met Justin and Heather in the Knoxville airport when I was waiting for my flight to Marco Island for Caytie and Zach’s wedding last July.  We started talking and one thing lead to another and a year and a half later they finally got married!  It was a great day, beautiful weather, and fun people.  It was a great wedding to end 2008 with.

This wedding is going to be featured in the next issue of Enchanted Brides for East Tennessee.  You’ll be able to see images from this wedding all over that magazine.  We’re all excited about it.

Leah McCall did a great job on the flowers, feathers, and shiny things

All Occasions Party Rentals provided the great furniture

Rosa’s Catering kept everyone fat and happy

Divine Wedding Decor made sure the tent was lit to perfection

Dishwater Blonde kept the reception going

Cresent Bend was our amazing host

I’m currently having word difficulties, so this is post is short on words.

I was hired at the last minute for Sam and Lea’s wedding at the beginning of October.  I’m glad they called me too.  It was my first go at shooting a Jewish wedding.  I had so much fun with everyone!

Lea and Sam decided to see each other before for pictures.  So they had the Trolley pick them up at the hotel and drive us around downtown to do pictures.

We started over at the Tennessee Theater…

Had a bottle of champagne along the way…

and ended up in the Old City.

They got married after sun down which made it a little rough on taking pictures without a flash….but made for some killer B&Ws

They met on a hike in Austria, so they had a little mountain on their cake topper.  It was WAY cute!

This was one of the parts that I was most looking forward to!

And then there was my Blake.  He was a groomsmen and actually passed out during the ceremony.  His fiance Mimi is the girl on the far right who was also a bridesmaid.  She held it together really well.  It’s a good thing that everything was fine because we were all able to laugh about it shortly after.

Michal and Elizabeth in Memphis

You may remember Michal and Elizabeth from their e.session back in May.  They got married at the beginning of October in Elizabeth’s parents back, well, side yard.  They’re house is incredible and was the perfect setting for their wedding.

Michal planted a tree in their front yard that day.  If you remember, they climbed a tree on their first date, so the hope is that they will eventually be able to bring their kids there and they’ll be able to climb the tree.

This was right before Elizabeth put her dress on

Elizabeth’s mom made her veil for her sister’s wedding.  So it was very special for Liz to wear it for her wedding.

Fun shoes!

The flowers were amazing.

We were fighting with the light, but I think we managed!

I loved the cut fruit in the center pieces

What happens when you light several sparklers at once?

Miss Carmen and Chris Walker

I was friends with Carmen in college and then we lost touch after I graduated.  I never would have guessed that our paths would cross again the way that they did.  Her older sister Lynn, who I was also friends with, has started shooting for me.  Many of you have met her a time or two at weddings that she’s shot with me.  Carmen just recently moved back to East Tennessee and took a job with TEIS (Tennessee Early Intervention Services) and has become our in home therapist for Noah!  She’s been wonderful and I feel like his biggest strides have been a direct result from working with her.  We’re so fortunate to have her back in our lives.

Just a few months ago, she got engaged to Chris Walker, her best friend of 15 years.  I think that the only 2 people who didn’t know they were going to end up together were Carmen and Chris!  The decided to get married in Ocean Isle, NC (just an hour north of Pawleys Island which is where I was the weekend before with Wells and Kate).  I was able to ride out there with Chris and Carmen and spend the week with her family.  It was really nice to get away and spend some time on the coast.  I was even able to get up to Wilmington to see my friend Millie Holloman and her crew.  Everything was the way a low key beach wedding should be.  Everyone was really laid back and there were very few stresses.  The only thing I think we all would have changed would be having a coordinator for the day of.  I was shooting and directing the processional at the same time!  It went well though and there weren’t any hiccups.  Anyway, I’m going to stop chit chatting and show you the pictures already.  I’m also putting her b.session pictures at the end of the post.  We went to our Alma Mater Carson-Newman.  Very Fun!

“Easy, Breezy, Beautiful, COVERGIRL!!!

They decided (and by they, I mean Chris) not to see each other before.  They couldn’t stay away though!  So between their photo time in the schedule, they met at a corner for a quick chat…but never actually saw eachother….which made for a cool shot.

Chris is a musician and wanted to sing to Carmen as she walked down the aisle.  That was a first for me.  I was actually wondering if he was going to make it.  He did!  it was really beautiful and I got this awesome shot of Carmen watching him sing.

Her ring was a surprise, so this Carmen seeing her wedding ring for the first time as he put it on her finger.

After we did pictures with everyone, we hopped in the car and drove a mile down the beach to this amazing pier.  I LOVE all the lines!

Carmen’s dad is a potter, Alewine Pottery, and he made the cups for the reception that everyone took home.

Chris sang a song that he wrote about Carmen at the reception.

Here is Carmen’s B.Session

Wells and Kate

I got to go to Pawleys Island, SC a couple of weeks ago to shoot Wells and Kate’s wedding at this incredible plantation, Litchfield Plantation.  This was everything I love about the south and the coast, except the heat.  I met Kate through Charles and Kacey Jones which you should remember from last December.  I knew that if Wells and Kate had even half the amount of fun that Charles and Kacey had, I was in for a treat.  I was right.  I had so much fun from the time I started shooting the guys getting ready trying to get their ties tied just right till the time I ran through the Myrtle Beach airport to make it on my plane to leave the next day.  Oh, by the way, they did something I’ve never done with anyone….ever.  You’ll find out what that was at the end of this post.  This is going to be a super long post, so I’ll stop the chit chat and get to it.

**UPDATE**  Wells put a post on his blog HERE.  Yes it is true, I did threaten to punch one of the groomsmen in the throat…but it was well deserved!

**ANOTHER UPDATE** I didn’t put a link to the coordinator’s website.  I worked with Robyn Heath of Worry Free Weddings.  She was absolutely wonderful to work with.  Thanks for everything Robyn!

Isn’t this chair cool?!  A perfect place to showcase Kate’s Jimmy Choo’s.

I can’t decide if I like this picture in color…

or B&W

Nothing says let’s party like a bottle of Dom!

These are Kate’s parents.  I thought it was a cute picture of the 2 of them.

Wells and Kate met when their dogs had a bit of a, um, disagreement while on a walk.  Don’t worry, they get along now.  It was just a clever ploy to get their owners together.

It’s always special to watch a bride being escorted down the aisle.  However, this was extra special because Kate’s dad normally gets around via his wheel chair.  This was very emotional for us all and Mr. Schneider had a smile plastered on his face the whole way.

Um, I think you guys were supposed to be praying.  tisk tisk!

YUM!  Puppy Kisses!

Now kiss Kate!  He wiped his mouth off, I promise!

They closed it down!  They kept dancing while everyone waited to send them off outside.

This is the beautiful Plantation house at about 11pm.

And this is the plantation house at 6:30 AM!  Yes, this is the fun first time shoot….a day after shoot.  I told them that they were going to want to call me and say forget it when the alarm goes off…but it would be TOTALLY worth it.

I don’t want to say I told you so…BUT I TOTALLY TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!

This is Wells’ parents house.  It’s right on the beach and across from a saltwater marshy type creek area that’s amazing.

If they weren’t awake by this point, they were at the end of this series.  This is a joggling board.  It’s this great long bendy board that you can either rock side to side on or bounce on.  Kate and Wells chose to bounce UP…

DOWN…

DOWN….

DOWN!!!  It was hilarious.

Here’s that beautiful marshy area I was talking about.

It’s not really a marsh…it’s very clean and you can swim in it.  The water was pretty warm.  This is Wells’ favorite part of Pawleys Island.

Ryan and Blair

So I’ve taken a little break from my current book obsession, Twilight, as a feeble attempt to drag the last 200 pages of the 4th book out to last as long as I can stand it to bring you the rockin’ pictures from Ryan and Blair’s wedding from the beginning of September.

They kicked my September off right!  Everything that day was amazing.  The weather was a little iffy in the morning, but by the time we were ready for pictures, we got the most amazing light and clouds.  I’m thrilled with all of the pictures and it was hard to narrow down my favorites.

When I met with Blair and her mom back in May, I knew that this was going to be an amazing wedding.  First off, she said to me “I want you to know who I am”….PERFECT!!!  MY KIND OF GIRL!!!  The she proceeded to tell me about herself.  I’m going to save all of that for when I post their post wedding shoot, which we haven’t done yet.  All I’m going to say is that she’s going to do things that no real bride has ever done before….I’ll just let you sit on that!

Without further adieu…
