Miss Raeruth’s Bat Mitvah

I met Rae and her dad and brother at the Volunteer Ministry’s roast of Coach Pearl back in May.  David then contacted me about doing Rae’s Bat Mitvah.  I haven’t been to one since middle school!  I always remember them being a blast though.  Tons of teenagers hyped up on sugar and caffeine….SIGN ME UP!!!!!!!  I had such a great time with them.  We met on Friday and did a few shots of Rae by herself.  It just so happened that her 13th birthday was the next day, she totally doesn’t look 13.  After that we headed to the synagogue to get some pictures with her family (who came from all over the place) and then dinner at The Orangery after the service.  The next day I met them at the Knoxville Museum of Art for the party.

I had a great time spending the weekend with y’all.  SHALOHA!!!

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to work with Volunteer Ministries at an event to raise money.  They roasted Coach Bruce Pearl!  It was hilarious!  There were some low blows, but it was all in good fun and for a great cause.  Mayor Bill Haslam was our MC.  He was in the hot seat last year, so it’s only fair that he gets to be the grand marshall this year.

To learn more about Volunteer Ministry Center and their work, go to their website HERE . If you would like to make any donations, click HERE for the link for instructions.

If you would like to be on the email list to receive notification that the rest of the images are posted on Pictage, please shoot me an email or click HERE to pre-register and get a $5 gift certificate and Pictage will notify you when the images are posted.

Dane, I know you want a copy of this!  I’ll even sign it for you!!  And yes ladies, he’s even cuter in person.

Lookin’ a little flushed there coach!

Coach Jones was modeling for the cover of “Pimps and Hustlers Magazine” (joke courtesy of Dane Bradshaw)

Coach Pearl couldn’t stay seated!  He jumped up on just about every roaster!

Everyone jokes about Coach Summit having “the look”….and it is very fierce.  However, I’m so happy I was able to get catch a great genuine laugh from her.

Of course everyone was lined up when it was all over for an autograph from all the coaches.

These are all of the roasters and those sitting up at the head table.  The only one we’re missing here is Ginny Weatherstone who is VMC’s fearless leader.

My coaches collection is complete!  I now have a picture with all of the major UT coaches.  This picture was taken by Coach Tony Jones.  Coach Jones, I think you need a little photo lesson.  Maybe between groups at the next Fore The Kids Golf Tournament.

Les Trois Chefs

I shot this great event almost 2 weeks ago called Les Trois Chefs. It was a dinner benefiting Childhelp. This amazing organization exists to give help to abused and neglected children and those who may be at risk. I wish I had a number to tell you how much money was raised, but I don’t have one. If anyone who is reading this knows how much was raised, please leave a comment so everyone can know. Regardless of how much was raised, it’s never enough. If you would like to donate something to Childhelp, please click HERE or contact your local Childhelp branch.
This event came together with the help of my friend Allison Sprouse with The Modern Hostess, with flowers by Brian Davis with Cachepot (865-660-1595), and entertainment by The Three Waiters and Burning Las Vegas. It was such a wonderful event. You don’t want to miss it next year!
If you would like to see all of the images from the event, click HERE and enter the event code “childhelp” (case sensitive). I will be donating 20% of the proceeds from online sales back to Childhelp. So please help me write a BIG check!

3 peas in a pod

Here’s to you Sydney, Anissa, and Aubrey! Way to make it through your first year! No, these girls are not triplets, but they might as well be. They were all born within a week of each other to some of my old coworkers. I think that a kid’s first birthday party is so much fun. Especially when you share it with close friends. Way to go “Pea Pod”!

Fore the Kids

A couple of weeks ago, I shot the Bruce Pearl Fore the Kids golf tournament to benefit Camp Koinonia. As most of you know, Coach Bruce Pearl is the University of Tennessee Men’s Basketball coach. Everyone knows that UT sports isn’t just a past time around here, it’s a lifestyle. So when I was asked to do this last year, I was thrilled to say yes. Even better, they liked me so much and asked me back this year. Coach Pearl was in and out because they were preparing for their trip to Europe, so I got to hang out with Assistant Coach Tony Jones at one of the holes all day. Coach Pearl did get to take pictures with all of the teams playing as well as some of the Camp Koinonia campers. I wish I could post some of the pictures of the campers for you to see.

It costs about $475 to send a kid to camp. I believe that with this tournament, we were able to fund the entire camp for next year! If you would like to make a donation to Camp Koinonia, you can contact me and I will put you in touch with the right people.

Here are a couple of pictures of Coach Pearl and Coach Jones.

I photographed a party last Saturday for a little boy named Ben who is in remission. He’s 5 years old and just finished his last treatment. What a brave guy! He loves cars and my friend Allison Sprouse did a great job bringing this all together. Leah McCall did great arrangements of gerbers, grass, and cars. If you would like to see all of the pictures, click here and type in the event key “celebrate”. 20% of the proceeds from online sales are going to the cancer charity of the Hirsh’s choice.

Ruthann Henry

Saturday night I photographed a surprise party for Ruthann Henry. My friend Brian Davis was the one who recommended me for this event. He’s the one who did all of the flowers. I later found out that her husband, J.E., used to play softball with my father-in-law along with some of the guests. What a small world! Happy Birthday Ruthann!
