Mike and Courtney – 6.7.08!

So the biggest wedding day of the year was 6-7-08. It just so happens that this was one of the biggest weddings of my year. Mike and Courtney were the lucky couple that snagged me for the day. I had a great time with this group. They couldn’t wait to get married and their guests couldn’t wait to celebrate with them. No one can look at their pictures and tell me they didn’t have a great time. It’s rare that I have a crowd that wears me out….but they almost did! They would have danced all night if the band had kept playing.

I’m going to try to do a better job at letting you know what vendors my couples use because they’re really help make my job easy. I got to work with Allison Sprouse and Whitney Bowman of The Modern Hostess. They didn’t miss a detail. Everything tied in together and looked stellar. Leah McCall with Whimsical Gatherings did the flowers. You will see that everything was absolutely beautiful!

The ceremony was at All Saints Catholic Church on Cedar Bluff.

This is a sweet moment between Mike’s parents

They had the reception at Tellico Yacht Club which has some amazing docks down by the water. I was able to snag a few shots of Mike and Courtney before they joined their guests at the cocktail hour before dinner.

This was a first for me. They had a furniture tent that guests could hang out in.

Thanks to Terry at All Occasions Party Rentals did a wonderful job with the tents and lighting.

The details of this cake were amazing  Peggy with Magpies came up large, as usual!

They had a candy bar for the guests complete with toothbrushes! Courtney is in dental school and her dad and brother are both dentists.

While the guests were enjoying dinner, a lovely thunderstorm rolled in. The good news was that it cooled everything down and made for a cool shot. The bad news was that it delayed the dancing band from starting because the tent was outside. Luckily, the bulk of the storm dumped all it’s rain before it got to us, so we were only about 15 minutes behind.

Have you noticed all the green and white? They even had green and white flip flops for all the guests to change into for dancing.

While they were waiting on the storm to pass, The Kays picked up the beat so everyone could start dancing.

Once everyone moved outside, the ties came off and the pants legs were rolled up!

The good part of a storm that passes is the beautiful sunset that usually follows.

They got The Maxx to play in the dancing tent…and they were amazing!
