While I was out at WPPI, Becker did headshots just outside of Paris. So of course I jumped in. Go to his [b]school blog and see the video that they did. It’s episode 72 – behind the scenes at the headshot shoot. I made the video a couple of times! Anyway, you should really bookmark this blog because it’s full of wonderful resources, and it’s free. You can also subscribe to his podcast and get all of the shorts as they’re updated in itunes. That’s what I watched on my way out to Vegas. Anyway, here’s my favortie picture of me that he took.

Back before I left for Love Affair, I photographed a project that Malinda Sharp of Sharp Designs did.  This is a beautiful smoking porch that is a completely new addition to the house.  The owners of the house, Fred and Christine Cerrone, just hosted a bridal shower for my sister out on the porch, and it was wonderful!  If you ever are in need of a wonderful designer, Malinda is fantastic.  I’ve been honored to photograph several of her projects, and she really has incredible ideas.  I can’t wait till have a bigger studio space so she can do something for me! malinda-8.jpg malinda-12.jpg malinda-20.jpg malinda-30.jpg

Back on the East Coast

Hey guys!  I just got back to Atlanta from WPPI in Vegas.  It was a blast, but I’m so glad to be done.  I worked on my Love Affair pictures on the flight on the way out with every intention of blogging them when I had internet, but that never happened.  Anyway, I want to share a fun little story with you.  I would call my parents every morning (Vegas morning) on my way over to the conference to see how things were going.  I knew that it was in the middle of the day there and the next time I would have a chance to call, it would be too later.  So mom told me one morning that she came downstairs because the dog was barking.  When she walked in the kitchen, Noah was sitting in front of the fridge with a sippy cup of milk that he had gotten out and a bottle of juice.  This kid will climb out of his crib, open AND close his bedroom door, and then go downstairs to start his day and NO ONE can hear him!  Anyway, the next part of this I have to preface by saying everyone is OK.  I called the next morning to see how things were going.  Mom then told me that her little yorkie Della had been attacked by a German Shepherd the night before and spent the night in the pet ER.  Then that morning, their other dog Diamond had a seizure.  As I’m getting all the details, mom turns around just in time to catch Noah dumping out a can of pringles.  As Dad’s cleaning the mess up, mom tells me that they’ve devised a plan that involves some pots and some string tied on Noah’s door so they can hear him get up. I’ve just learned that they have the string  tied to the doorknob then running down the hall and attached to the pots in their room.  Then I hear this terribly loud white noise coming from her end.  She says, in frustration, Della was attacked, Diamond had a seizure, Dad’s vacuuming Noah, and there are pots tied to the door.  I don’t know if you found this funny, but I was doubled over laughing on the sidewalk.  Anyway, a fun little story to try and stall till I have the Love Affair pictures finished.

And I’m off again

This morning Noah had tubes put in his ears.  He’s doing great and we’re anxious to see what kind of effect this has on his hearing and speech.  For those of you who don’t know what’s going on, I’m going to do another post to catch you up in the next couple of days…in theory!  I have some pretty fun pictures from this morning that I want to blog, so I hope I can find time to be able to get those up and tell the whole story.  Anyway, after we made sure Noah was over all the medicines they gave him, we hit the bricks and headed BACK down to Atlanta.  I’m going to a bridal shower for my sisterEllie,(more pictures here) tomorrow and then I’m heading to Vegas on Sunday for WPPI.  If you’re going, leave me a comment and let me know so I can be on the lookout for you.  This will be my first trip out there, so I’m a little nervous because I know how crazy it can be.  I’m very excited though.  I hope this finds everyone doing well!

Here are pictures from the last shoot we did at Homewood.  We had Shyla and Eric back again as well as Jill.  It was a fun indoor shoot where we got to play around with lighting a little bit.  It was a good way for us to finish off the week.  Of course the next day Amber Holritz shared her philosophy and approach to lifestyle photography, which was amazing and inspiring.  Thank you so much to the crew at Corey McNabb Photography and Amber Holritz (along with the rest of the Holritz clan for letting us have their wife and mom for the week.  It was a great week filled with wonderful tips, ideas, reality checks, fun, food, and fellowship!  homewood-31.jpg homewood-8.jpg homewood-9.jpg homewood-12.jpg homewood-14.jpg homewood-15.jpg homewood-19.jpg homewood-20.jpg homewood-22.jpg Eric set this picture up, but I had to jump in on the action ’cause it was just too cool.homewood-26.jpg

Still out of order

I’m blogging things SO out of order.  I’M SORRY!  I was reminded by my neighbor Jessi yesterday that I had been slow and that she’s had to stalk other people’s blogs.  I have some images ready to post from Rockstar and I’m still trying to get all of my faves edited from Love Affair.  I also have some pictures from a project that the oh so talented Malinda Sharp designed.  I have those edited, but not ready to blog.  So in the meantime, here are some more pictures from Rockstar.  These are from the day that we shot at The Biltmore.  I have wanted to shoot at Biltmore for forever.  I was a little bummed when we woke up and there was snow, and it was freezing because it was going to make for a nasty shooting day.  And I do mean it was F R E E Z I N G!!!!!!  No lie, my car registered 24 degrees.  I had to remind myself that I trust that God will put in the right place and the right time to catch the image that I’m meant to have.  I just have to be aware of what that image is going to be.  It turned out to be the COOLEST day though.  We had sunny skies and HUGE puffy clouds that were spitting snow.  So even though it was full sun, there was still snow falling.  However, I say cool, but that was for the photographers.  The poor models had long johns under their dresses and suits.  All except Bree who had a slit that shot all the way up her leg.  She looked hot though.  This is my friend Lindsey Bamber getting her makeup done.  You may recognize them from an earlier blog post of mine.  They are my photographer friends, and travel buddies, from Dayton, TN.   rsb-2.jpg This is Jill Schwarzkopf.  She’s a photographer friend of Corey’s from Ashevillersb-7.jpg  John and Lindsey again.  I didn’t get any of just John, which I’m bummed about.rsb-8.jpg This is Bree.  Doesn’t she have AMAZING legs!  This dress was perfect for her.rsb-10.jpg rsb-11.jpg Lindseyrsb-12.jpg The Purple Iris provided us with some AMAZING bouquets.rsb-13.jpg Of Course Shyla and Eric.rsb-16.jpg rsb-21.jpg rsb-22.jpg rsb-23.jpg  rsb-27.jpg A big, no, H U G E thanks to the lovely people at Biltmore for allowing us to shoot on the amazing grounds and come inside to warm up.  Also to our models for sticking with us through the arctic weather….it was TOTALLY worth it!
