On Monday I went up to Sevierville to take pictures of our friends from Carson-Newman, Lynn and Marshall.  Lynn and I studied photography together.  I’m really excited to tell you that she is going to be part of the changes I have planned for the business.  That’s all I’m going to say about that now.  It’s still too soon to fill you all in on everything.  I’m still trying to figure it all out myself!Anyway, I had a great time playing with Lynn and Marshall and their 2 beautiful girls Audrey and Georgia Kate.  One of their favorite things is to play in bed.  So they made a little bed in their family room where we had a lot of great natural light coming in.  So enjoy! img_2259.jpg img_2306.jpgimg_2323.jpgimg_2325.jpgimg_2354.jpgAudrey turned the camera on me! img_2552.jpgI can’t wait for her to join my team in about 18 years! img_2576.jpg

I’m SO SO sorry guys. I shot Tyson and Hilary’s wedding on the 10th and I never had a chance to work on them till today. I had such a great time with them…even though we were WAY behind schedule! Lucky for me, they weren’t very interested in the “formal” shots so we were able to fly through them when we got a free 15 minutes. They were all so laid back and had so much fun together. They had a beautiful fall wedding at Dara’s Garden. It was an awesome day, but got pretty cold once the sun went behind the trees.

I was fortunate to have Adam Brown join me as a second shooter. You can see his post here.

My friend Leah asked me to take some more pictures of her little girl Madeline. Of course I said yes. Not just because Leah’s my friend, but because I always have fun playing with Madeline. We usually only have a limited amount of time to shoot because, well, she’s 3 and her moods change so quickly. Anyway, we had a ton of fun playing around at their family’s farm.

Every time I think I’m catching up, I have another shoot and start falling behind again. Please hang tight with me guys.

Here are Jennifer and Brandon’s pictures. They aren’t engaged, they’ve actually been married for 7 years. They wanted to get some “family pictures” done for their christmas card this year. We had a great time shooting and they even let me throw them in the fountain! Well, they didn’t really WANT to go in, but they caved after I kept bringing it up. Apparently it was pretty cold. I only made them stay in there long enough to get a couple of good shots.

SANTA!!!!! I know him!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We normally come down to North Georgia to Big Canoe to spend it with my family. However, we were unable to travel for Thanksgiving day. We found ourselves at the Doctor’s and then at Children’s Hospital because Noah had a fever of 103! They found that he and an infection somewhere, but they didn’t know what or where. So they gave him an antibiotic shot and then took his blood to do some further testing. So the doctor told us that we shouldn’t go anywhere. So we ate with Adam’s family and Noah seemed to be doing better. We took him back on Friday for the doctor to check him out again and found that an ear infection had developed. HOORAY! I know, it sucks, but at least we know that it’s something treatable. Since he was doing so well, he gave us permission to come down to Atlanta to make our Santa appointment.

Ok, now to the fun stuff. My sister and I grew up going to see Santa at Phipps Plaza every year for as long as I can remember. So I was really excited to start taking Noah to him. We were devastated when he was called home to be with Jesus last October. However, Santa Ray’s successor was his head elf, Johnny. So we’re so excited to start a new tradition with Santa Johnny.

Last year was, well, not great. He was mad because we picked him up to take him up there. Then he realized who was holding him and it went down hill from there. This year was shaping up to be the same if not worse! He was cranky, tired, his ear hurt, and we wouldn’t let him run wherever he wanted to go. All recipes for disaster. We were already apologizing to Santa, the people around us, and the people working there. Here are some pictures of us trying to keep him happy before.

Then we went to put him on Santa’s lap, fully expecting a full on rebellion. After all, he is almost 2. Then to our surprise, the switch flipped and he was an ANGEL! If he could talk, he would have turned to Santa and said “Hey, I’ve got this. Just follow my lead. Just smile for a couple of seconds and then it’s all over.”

Then he decided it was time to go….

And tried to escape….

Leaving Santa alone with a blankie and a list.

We don’t have pictures of it, but he went back and sat on his lap, slithered down and proceeded to run in circles in front of santa! We got a video from them and they said that they got it all. As soon as I figure out how to put it on youtube and then post it here, I’ll let you all know.

In case you’re wondering, and I know you all are, here was his list.

1) A Buzz Lightyear Doll
2) A Cowboy Woody Doll
3) A Playset
4) A Playstation 3 with Madden ’08 – For Daddy
5) The ability to speak in complete sentences that other people can understand.
6) SEC Championship for the UT Vols – for the good of all man kind
7) A Canon 1D Mark III – For Mommy

Here’s a fun little family picture for you.

Come to think of it, I don’t think that vertical one in the doorway is mine. The one he posted has more of the ground in it than I do. I guess that’s the bad thing about shooting in a workshop with 18 other people and only 1 model. You’re bound to get the exact same shot as someone else. Mine’s pretty close though!

Beckstead’s Blog Post

David Beckstead has finally posted his favorites from the workshop in Nashville. Go to his blog and it’s currently the latest post, November 20. He posted a couple of my pictures! Well, I know one for sure. The first one on the bottom. The other one that I think is mine is the night shot in the doorway, the 3rd on the top row. The reason I only think it’s mine is because there were several of us shooting fisheyes in that spot. I want to say that there was someone else who had a similar shot, that’s why I’m not saying that it is mine for sure. However, the framing and her body position is the exact same as it is in my shot.

Here are the 2 that I’m talking about.
