I met Rae and her dad and brother at the Volunteer Ministry’s roast of Coach Pearl back in May. David then contacted me about doing Rae’s Bat Mitvah. I haven’t been to one since middle school! I always remember them being a blast though. Tons of teenagers hyped up on sugar and caffeine….SIGN ME UP!!!!!!! I had such a great time with them. We met on Friday and did a few shots of Rae by herself. It just so happened that her 13th birthday was the next day, she totally doesn’t look 13. After that we headed to the synagogue to get some pictures with her family (who came from all over the place) and then dinner at The Orangery after the service. The next day I met them at the Knoxville Museum of Art for the party.
I had a great time spending the weekend with y’all. SHALOHA!!!

So with this Pay It Forward project, I agreed to take on a total of 3 shoots. 2 of the shoots are taking it to different areas and fred and Julie are keeping it here in Knoxville. Julie is a very talented photographer based out of Knoxville. I met her and her fiance Fred at their house in South Knoxville to shoot them and their 2 babies, 4 legged babies that is. You can find her work here at Julie Roberts Photography. If you live in the Knoxville area, get in touch with Julie because she has 30 days in pay her session forward to another photographer and their family.

Ben and I went to college together and his wedding to Beka was one of my first weddings ever. They now live in West Palm Beach and Beka has started her own photography business, Kallima Photography. We were able to work out a couple of hours where our paths were crossing while traveling for the Thanksgiving Holiday. I have shot several things before them, but I ended up getting their’s done first because of a surprise that was, well, you’ll see.

And here’s the surprise…..

WOOHOO!!!!
If you live in near West Palm Beach, are a photographer, and would love for Beka to photograph you and your family, make sure you get in touch with her ASAP. I know she’ll get her PIF quota filled quickly.
I met Logan and Brooke a couple of years ago at my husband’s 10 year high school reunion. After I met them, Adam turned to me and said “now that’s one wedding you’re gonna wanna get”. I don’t think I even knew they were dating, I don’t know, I met a lot of people that night. At any rate, it was a fun day when they got in touch with me. We had a great time at our meeting and I loved hearing their story. They had dated some in high school, but their path’s led them in different directions. Everyone is so happy that they’re FINALLY getting married. One thing that Logan said has been stuck in my mind since we met. He said that he’s loved her for almost 13 years and he can’t wait to call her his wife. I KNOW!!!! I’m a little teary too.
First we started in Old Concord. I just love that area!

Then I thought that it was only fitting to go to the scene of the crime, Farragut High School.

This is the classroom where they had class together.

This wedding was a long time coming. I met Justin and Heather in the Knoxville airport when I was waiting for my flight to Marco Island for Caytie and Zach’s wedding last July. We started talking and one thing lead to another and a year and a half later they finally got married! It was a great day, beautiful weather, and fun people. It was a great wedding to end 2008 with.
This wedding is going to be featured in the next issue of Enchanted Brides for East Tennessee. You’ll be able to see images from this wedding all over that magazine. We’re all excited about it.
Leah McCall did a great job on the flowers, feathers, and shiny things
All Occasions Party Rentals provided the great furniture
Rosa’s Catering kept everyone fat and happy
Divine Wedding Decor made sure the tent was lit to perfection
Dishwater Blonde kept the reception going
Cresent Bend was our amazing host

Amy and Nick booked me a for their May 2009 wedding sight unseen. I mean, they had seen my work and met me in a drive-by at a bridal show a little while ago, but we never actually sat down and met about their wedding. Amy just emailed me one day saying that she was sending me a contract! I’m SO glad that they decided to do an e.session so we had some time to get to know each other. We got off to a little rocky start when my initial plan crashed and burned. The awesome late afternoon light totally made up for it though and we finished on a super high note.

Nick and Amy go to the movies just about every weekend, so we grabbed some popcorn at the downtown theater and took over the lobby for a little while. Just so you know, I couldn’t give that popcorn to anyone. No one would take it! I payed almost $7 for it and I wasn’t about to throw it away. So I carried it around with us the whole time we were downtown!

Then out into the yumminess.

If I had a dollar for every person who stopped to tell us that “the sun is really bright”, then I would have….well, about 5 dollars.

I love this one, I think it’s my favorite.

Well, maybe this one is.

Nick sells UT paraphernalia, so we thought it was fitting to go and get some shots around the stadium. To our excitement, it was open! So we grabbed a couple of shots.
**NOTE** We stayed in the stands and did not go on the field. We didn’t want to push our luck…or have any of the VOLS bad luck rub off on us.

My friend Leah asked me to photograph her little girl Madeline back at the beginning of November. This is the 3rd time I’ve been able to have fun getting in growling matches and chasing her around. To see her other 2 sessions and how much she’s grown, click HERE and HERE.

I just wanted to post a quick picture of Noah at Hallowwn. I’m pretty proud of this costume.

I met Jennifer through Noah’s mother’s day out director. She asked me to come and take some pictures of her sweet family. We were very lucky to be able to find a day between all of our crazy travel schedules a couple of weeks ago. I had a great time with their 5 year old daughter Sydney.
First we played with horses

Then we got all dressed up….these are my favorites

Then we did some coloring

and then became couch potatos

This one SCREAMS christmas card!

and then there was just enough time to get some fun pictures outside before Mark had to leave for a quick business trip.

Mark and Sydney planted a vegetable garden together
