My friends Kyle and Adrienne asked me to photograph their son Braden for his “sort of ” 1 year old pictures. So he’s really about 13 months or so. Anyway, we had a good time. Here are some of my favorites.

Hey everyone. I wanted to let you all know that I’ve started carrying these great frames from Sugarboo Designs. They are handmade and hand painted to order and signed by the artist. I just got an e-mail from them that their cut-off for Christmas delivery is November 1st. They’ve got great pics on their website, but I also have a couple of frames in my “studio” that I would be happy to show you anytime. I also have samples of all of the base colors as well as a list of quotes they currently offer. If there’s a quote that you would like that they don’t have, they can custom make a frame with your quote for $100 one time fee. Don’t forget, get your orders to me by October 31st so I can get the order in by their cut-off November 1st.

Hey everyone. I’m sorry it’s been a little while since I last posted some pictures. I shot little Raina 2 weeks ago. Isn’t she cute?!

I just got home from LA. I’m glad that I’ll be able to sleep in my own bed, but I wish there were a couple more days of seminars. Anyway, I failed to mention in my last post that I was fortunate enough to get a mentoring session with Corey McNabb. He’s a total rock star photographer out of Asheville, just over the mountains. He was really encouraging about my work and the direction that I would like to take my business. Since he’s just a quick 2 hour drive (well it’s not really THAT quick because of the mountains), I hope to be able to see him every once in a while. He’s extremely talented. Please check out his site, www.coreymcnabb.com. He’s going to be doing a workshop in October at the Biltmore. I wish I could go, but I had already committed to another workshop that same week in Nashville. Maybe I’ll be able to go if he does another one.
I feel so lucky. I just finished the second day out at the LA Pictage Partner Conference. I don’t have any pictures to post yet, but I’ll catch up with them as soon as my to do list gets a little smaller. To catch some of you up, Pictage is a great company that I use as my online storefront and lab. They’re so much more than that though. They’ve really made this great community where photographers at all levels can come together and learn from each other. I’ve had the great pleasure to speak to and learn from some of the most sought after and celebrated photographers in our industry. There were so many, there’s no way I can name them all. Some that have shot weddings I KNOW you’ve heard of are Bob Davis (Eva Longoria and Tony Parker), Denis Reggie (JFK Jr and Caroline Bassette, the Today Show Weddings), Mike Colon (Usher), David Jay, Jules Bianchi, Liana Lehman, Nathan and Amber Holritz (I’m just saying them because Nathan is sitting across from me…JK!), and SO many more. I almost feel like it’s not fare to even name a couple of them because they are all so amazing.
I’ve been so hungry for information and learning how other people get their shots and run their business that this has come at the perfect time for me. Now I’ll be coming home, throwing everything away and starting from scratch! Ok, so not really, but I’ll be doing some serious evaluations. Hopefully my blog and websites will be getting a bit of a facelift soon. I’m also going to be starting to send out e-mail newsletters. So if you’re interested in getting any of those, please leave a comment for this post and let me know. I don’t know when I’ll get my first one out, but I’m going to start taking addresses now.
I hope that all of you reading this blog are well and are excited about the upcoming fall season. I know I’m excited for it to not be 100 anymore!

Charity called me out of the blue one day to do her wedding. Well, her wedding was the next Saturday! I just happen to have the day open and I’m so glad that it all worked out. It was the ultimate “backyard” wedding. Everything was made by either themselves, their friends, or their family. I felt like it was out of a J.Crew catalogue. Well, here are some of my favorites.

Most of the kids, and some of the adults ended up in the pool towards the end of the night.

I did this shoot a couple of weeks ago. I’m so sorry that it took me so long to get it on my blog.
The Shulers asked me to come up to their home in North Carolina to photograph their family. Of course I jumped at the opportunity because they are such a beautiful and fun family. We focused mainly on Navy and Island since they haven’t had pictures made in a couple of years. Anyway, enjoy!
Here’s Navy

And Island!

Every year, my mom and I go on a Christian Women’s Retreat to Cayman Brac. We just got back in the states last night after a full day of traveling. We had to get up at 4 am! We left to go down there last Thursday. Well, everyone BUT me that is. On the way to the Atlanta airport I realized I had left my passport sitting in my jewelry box back in Knoxville! We were on the phone with everyone we could think of to get my passport to me either in the Atlanta or Tampa airport. We got a pilot to agree to hand carry it with him from Knoxville to Atlanta and I would meet him at the gate and then take a later flight to Tampa. Well, after joyous celebration, they called to tell us that the flight had been cancelled! Every other flight wouldn’t get it to me in time to make my connecting flight to Grand Cayman. So I had to spend the night with some friends and have Adam FedEx it to me so I could make the same flight the next day. When I got to the airport, I wasn’t in the system. Instead of changing my flight, Cayman Air had cancelled me all together! Luckily, the managing agent knew who I was and the situation and was able to reschedule everything and I got there that night.
I am so far behind from being out of town and dealing with the travel nightmare. However, I have some pictures from the first night at the retreat. Our speaker was Renee Swope with Proverbs 31 Ministries.

And Babbie Mason was the woman who lead our worship time. She was SO animated, it was very easy to get great shots of her.
